Qualcomm and Google have teamed up to offer up to 4 years of operating system updates and security updates on Android phones with Snapdragon processors.

This is thanks to the Treble Project , therefore, the Qualcomm 888 processor being compatible with Treble will be able to execute up to 4 Android and security updates . This is achieved with the improvements that both powers are making to Treble.
Now updates are simpler and no longer carry inheritance from previous ones . This makes it easier for Qualcomm to adapt to various versions of software over 4 years, with the changes that this implies.
Qualcomm chips now support the same Android software implementations, both for new phones and upgrades from older phones. This reduces the percentage of combinations that the processor must support. Now, the Android update schedule will be stronger and more durable, saving deployment time and reducing errors.
Great news for end users who will not see their phones abandoned. But there is a detail, and that is that this will only be for the high range , the mid and low range will continue with its updates for a period of time between 1 and 3 years.
