Ashley Wilde Group and Depaul keep London’s young homeless warm this winter

Date:

Ashley Wilde Group donates luxury blankets to Depaul UK homeless charity to help keep London’s young adults struggling with homelessness stay warm this winter.

Ashley Wilde Group is a family-owned, industry-leading textile, soft furnishings and bedding company which was founded in 1950. As part of their ‘Supporting our community’ campaign, 50+ luxury blankets were donated and delivered to Mulberry Heights, working in conjunction with Depaul, on Tuesday 6th December 2022. The initiative derived from Simon Brodin, CEO of Ashley Wilde Group, who has long felt passionate about helping vulnerable people and supporting our local communities where possible, especially during times of crisis.

Depaul UK, founded in 1989, work with local communities across the country to prevent and relieve the impact of homelessness on people’s lives. Mulberry Heights offer a range of services for people aged 18+ who are at risk of or are facing homelessness. Based in the London borough of Haringey, residents are provided with their own private rooms and other shared living spaces, to give the feeling of a safe and welcoming place. From accommodation services like Mulberry Heights to family mediation, employability programmes, and mental health and wellbeing support, Depaul does everything possible to help vulnerable people live a fulfilling, independent life away from the dangers of homelessness.

Paul Thoms, Sales Director at Ashley Wilde Group helped deliver the blankets commented ‘It was a real pleasure meeting the DEPAUL team, seeing what Mulberry Heights had to offer and delivering the blankets to such an impactful cause.’

Simon Brodin, CEO at Ashley Wilde Group comments; ‘With energy and fuel prices rising supporting services and charities are finding it harder to deliver affordable care to people who most need it.

I am delighted to be supporting Depaul’s efforts in reducing homelessness and offering young vulnerable people, all around London, a safe and warm place to stay.

The donated blankets were specifically designed with sherpa lining and a soft fleece face to retain heat and create warmth. I’m confident that they’ll keep residents warm and maybe even add a little Christmas cheer, while Depaul’s highly skilled professionals will support and help rebuild their lives.’

Ed Spink, Acting Deputy Manager at Mulberry Heights comments; ‘We are so grateful to Ashley Wilde Group for their support in gifting blankets to our clients this winter. With the cost of living continuing to rise and another difficult winter ahead, we know that people facing the dangers of homelessness need our help now more than ever. Thanks to Ashley Wilde Group, we can make our accommodation services feel a little more homely this Christmas.’
