National Tourism Saves The December Long Weekend With 85% Of Reservations

The tourism sector receives this year a large majority of national visitors. The movement within our borders will contribute up to 85% of the reserves. According to data from the vacation rental company Belvilla, Spanish travelers’ bookings for vacation homes in Spain on the Constitution Bridge increase by 700% compared to the same period in 2020 and by around 280% when compared to 2019 , in the pre-Covid period.

In addition, Spaniards will enjoy stays of between two and four days in holiday homes next bridge and 62% of the accommodations booked are holiday homes, 20% are villas and 10% are apartments.

On the other hand, families and groups are the type of traveler that predominates both these and in the Christmas holidays.

Belvilla has also reminded its guests that before booking their next stay they should consult and follow the current regulations regarding the pandemic offered by the official authorities of each destination.

Thus, Spanish airports will register a total of 25,304 air movements during these days, which will run from this Friday, December 3 to next Thursday, December 9, according to sources from Aena to Europa Press. Of the total scheduled flights, about 12,000 operations will be within the national territory on the bridge.

According to the airport manager, this Friday will be the busiest day in the Aena airport network as a whole, with a total of 4,045 scheduled flights, 1,966 within our borders and 2,079 international.

There are 4,008 arrival and departure operations planned for Saturday at all Spanish airports, while a total of 3,769 movements will take place on Sunday. After the weekend the scheduled flights go down.

With regard to the Christmas holidays, Spaniards will spend 50% more this Christmas than in 2020 and will also increase their trips, according to the study carried out by the IO Research Institute for Securitas Direct on the upcoming Christmas holidays.

Regarding the arrival of international visitors, uncertainty has multiplied due to the expansion of the omicron variant of Covid, from South Africa – according to the Minister of Health Carolina Darias, at least five cases have already been detected in Spain and two to be confirmed- and the good trend observed in 2021 may be truncated until August.
