Sánchez Announces An Additional 100 Million To Help Vulnerable Households In Winter

Date:

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has announced that the Council of Ministers will approve this Tuesday, October 26, a royal decree-law that will include an additional 100 million euros to help , against the increase in the price of electricity , at 1 , 2 million vulnerable households that exist in the country , before the arrival of winter.

In addition, this decree-law provides “to help industries and companies to protect their contracts against the rise in energy prices” , as well as “to incorporate transparency, and therefore control, in the formation of energy prices. the electricity tariff “, has advanced Sánchez.

And it is that, because Europe has “its time” to take measures, which the Government respects although it “would like them to be greater”, in the central Executive “what we are not going to do is what we must do in Spain” , hence the approval of this royal decree law that will affect the “defense of the consumer, defense of industry and business and defense of transparency,” he said.

Pedro Sánchez has made this announcement this Sunday in Mérida, where he has participated in the closing of the XIII Regional Congress of the PSOE of Extremadura, in which Guillermo Fernández Vara has been proclaimed secretary general of the PSOE of Extremadura.

Advocates for joint negotiation for the purchase of gas
In his speech, the Prime Minister considered that “the way in which electricity prices are formed at European level is not working,” so he advocated “reviewing that framework and that directive at the community level.”

Sánchez has defended that European countries negotiate “together” with gas-producing countries , just as the vaccines against Covid-19 were made, with which it has been proven that European countries are “stronger in the face of the negotiation with big pharmaceuticals, united “and equitable access has been achieved by all citizens, regardless of the size of their pockets, to the vaccine.”

“Together we are stronger, we weigh more being 400 million people behind the European Commission to negotiate, instead of 47 million” that Spain has, highlighted Pedro Sánchez, who has opted for “advancing on that path of unity in a negotiation jointly for the purchase of the country, now that there is precisely a competition on the part of the different countries with great economies “, like China or India.

Faced with this situation, he pointed out that if there is “a kind of financial speculation” in the CO2 emissions market , because in his opinion “also at the European level we will have to evaluate what measures we will have to take so that these do not occur. speculative phenomena “.

But “it is clear that in Europe things are slower than what I would like, and what Spain would like”, but he has valued that there is “progress in that debate in Europe”, for what he has shown his confidence that “it will be achieved at European level that there is an approach of Community response to the energy crisis and the rise in prices”.
