Amara Diallo came to lifestyle writing through community work. She spent six years in youth services and women's organisations in London, moved to a wellbeing charity, and started writing because the people she worked with were not seeing themselves in the lifestyle content available to them.
She writes about wellbeing, culture, food, community, and the version of lifestyle that exists outside magazine aspirations. She is interested in how people actually live rather than how brands suggest they should.
Amara lives in East London. She considers 'self-care' a useful concept that has been thoroughly ruined by marketing departments.
