More Than 60 Panamanian Companies Obtain The Safe Travels Seal

Date:

Some 63 Panamanian companies, mostly hotels, have obtained the Safe Travels seal, awarded by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC, for its acronym in English), to destinations that comply with biosecurity protocols, for containment of the spread of SARS-CoV-2.

Last November, WTTC granted Panama as a country this seal , which was subsequently accredited to this list of companies by the National Chamber of Tourism (CAMTUR) and the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), for complying with the established national protocols by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL).

The general administrator of the ATP, Iván Eskildsen , said that the Safe Travels seal seeks to inspire confidence in national and foreign tourists, to visit sites that comply with health measures.

In this way, they will be able to enjoy a safe experience, operating under guidelines and guides that promote the application of physical distancing, the use of a mask, among other biosecurity measures.

For tourism companies to be able to possess this seal, they must comply with a series of requirements such as: have the approval or the process in process of the committees and biosafety protocols of your company before the aforementioned ministries; contact the governing associations of your economic activity member of CAMTUR, so that your request can be included in a list.

They must also provide a copy of the company’s articles of incorporation or public registration certificate, operation notice, public service receipt, where the address of the company is detailed.

Then, at the request of the company, CAMTUR in coordination with the ATP will carry out the internal verification process, which includes, among others, the registration of the premises in the ATP and that they have entered their biosecurity protocols in the MITRADEL and the MINSA.
