EDPR Increases Its Installed Capacity To 13 Gigawatts Until September

EDP ​​Renovables increased its installed capacity to a total of 13 gigawatts in the more than nine months from the beginning of the year to September 21, which is 1.5 gigawatts more than the previous year. Europe presented 40% of its portfolio, about 5.3 GW, and North America 55%, about 7.1 GW. During this time, the capacity increased to 1.2 GW and the capacity under construction reached 2.7 GW.

After the successful completion of the asset rotation operation in the United States (80% of a 405 MW wind portfolio), the net additions amount to 0.9 GW. The renewables company generated 21.5 TWh of clean energy in these more than nine months (+ 5% year-on-year). On the European continent, generation increased 10% year-on-year, thanks to higher installed capacity, and in North America, production is maintained.

Likewise, it reached a load factor of 28%, reflecting a Renewables index of 95% of the expected long-term average Gross Capacity Factor. The firm continues to accelerate its growth with a greater technological diversification with more than 1.0 GW of solar energy and 1.5 GW gross of offshore in operation and under construction.
