The Finalist Companies For The 2021 Zaragoza SME Award

Egalle, Foticos, Jumosol, Nodriza Tech, Novapan / Panishop and Prodesa are competing for this award.

These six companies have been selected from a total of 58 applications submitted and evaluated within the framework of this fifth edition of the contest organized by Banco Santander and the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce.

Prodesa Medioambiente is an engineering company that supplies turnkey projects for biomass pellets production plants or lines and provides after-sales services. The headquarters are in Zaragoza, it has delegations in the United States, France, Latvia and Vietnam and projects in more than 15 countries.

For its part, Egalle focuses its activity on the manufacture of hair cosmetic products and, since 2020, hydroalcoholic gels. The company has opened new lines of business and has entered new markets, such as France, Holland or Poland, without neglecting social commitment and creating jobs. Last year it had a turnover of around 2.6 million euros, almost double than in the previous year. It has 15 employees.

The Foticos company has been dedicated since 1984 to the world of image and personalized products. It has more than 1,600 European distributors and a catalog with more than 1,300 personalized products that are sold through 17 e-commerce stores, of which 11 are international and 6 are national. Last year they billed more than 13 million euros, 83% more than in the previous year.

Jumosol Fruits is a family business dedicated to the cultivation and exploitation of onions. With the second generation at the helm, they have opted for a strategic and global vision and have created a fresh brand with an ambitious international plan. Last year its turnover exceeded 7 million euros and it has about 70 employees.

Nodriza Tech Venture Builder creates and accelerates Aragonese technology companies since 2007 through the contribution of capital and / or knowledge. Technology and sustainability is the common base of the brands it brings together. Last year it had a turnover of more than 5 million euros, doubling the figure from the previous year. It has about 30 employees and is present in 10 European countries.

Novapan is a family business that manufactures bakery and pastry products, and distributes them through a network of 40 establishments under the Panishop brand and through distributors and department stores. In 2020 they made investments of 1.5 million euros to guarantee quality, increase production capacity and digitize. It has 240 employees and last year it had a turnover of 18 million euros.

The Zaragoza SME of the Year will compete for the 2021 National SME of the Year Award, which will be awarded in the first quarter of 2022. In the same way, the provincial second prize winners will be candidates in their category for the National Prize for Internationalization, Innovation and Digitization , Training and Employment and Responsible Company, and that of the special mention COVID-19.
